I am 1 day sugar free to raise vital funds for people affected by Muscular Dystrophy!

"Thanks for helping kids like me".

17 days in

So of course I assumed that I’d drop lots of weight going sugar free but that definitely hasn’t been the case. 17 days in and I weigh the same.

It’s gotten easier though and I don’t really think about eating sugar any more.

I have discovered that sugar feee lollies have awful side effects.

Tuesday. First week - it feels a bit easier

Ok, can honestly say I feel better than usual. Am really concentrating on upping the fresh vegetables and salads and basically no alcohol certainly helps. Am not going to weigh myself every day during the month ( we know where this madness leads us) but I will be conscious of how I’m feeling.

Definitely thought less about sugar today. Good progress for day 5. Let’s hope it continues that way.

Buoyed up by the wonderful support of so many friends. Thank you

Monday morning. Getting serious

Survived first weekend. Had to make some serious recipe adjustments to amend menu but scraped through. Tried a gin and tonic with zero sugar tonic which was not entirely awful but stuck to one.

Main issue is not feeling any great affect of three days without sugar. Maybe it takes longer to feel good?

Walked down Acland St

Did not eat cake!!

Day one

Usual breakfast. Muesli, yoghurt, fruit and cofee

Went to market for fresh food. Somehow avoided the delicious almond croissant samples being passed out and also avoided gorgeous looking tarts.

Crackers, lamb and salad for lunch. Sugar free cordial

Hate tea but desperately needed something while reading book. Made fresh ginger and lemon tea which was terrific even though it would have been much nicer with a biscuit.

Approximately 14 hours in I’ve only thought about sugar 2345 times

Night before

I wish I could pretend I spent tonight seriously planning my sugar free month. I spent it going out for cocktails and enjoying an Indian feast. Sugar free starts tomorrow!

I love a cake but I also like helping others. One month, sugar free, I can do it! !

I am going sugar free this September to raise funds and awareness for people living with neuromuscular conditions such as Muscular Dystrophy.

My fundraising efforts will give kids and adults with neuromuscular conditions access to specialised care, educational resources and support, better treatment options, stronger community ties, and direct services such as kid’s camps and adult retreats.

Please help me smash my fundraising goal by making a secure tax deductible donation today and by spreading the word on social media to encourage others to donate.

Thanks for joining me on this journey of making a difference. Together, we can make a significant impact and achieve remarkable results.
